MEDICARE INSURANCE
Turning 65… a significant milestone in everyone’s life! It is time to be prepared for changes in your healthcare. There are what’s called captured agents. These sales agents are either employed by an insurance carrier that you might call on a 1-800 line and they offer only their company’s plans or they only specialize and are licensed by 1 company only. I am an independent agent that represents the larger companies that have plans available in the North Texas markets.
YOU HAVE CHOICES
Medicare Advantage ~ Part C: Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans pay and operate very similarly to major medical employer group plans with deductibles and co-pays. If you are entitled to Part A and enrolled in Part B, you are now eligible for a MA plan. Your medical Bills are paid like original Medicare. Many offerings also include dental, vision, hearing, health memberships, discounts on weightwatchers, etc. Many are priced with $0.00 premium with up to $9,250 Maximum Out of Pocket; others offer a low premium with lower out of pocket. You still are required to pay your Part B Premiums of $209.50, however. HMO Plans have network restrictions on where and how you receive your medical care and many require referrals and you have Co-Pays.
Medicare Supplement/Medigap Plans: They are needed to pay the gaps in coverage that part A and B do not financially cover. The $1,788 Part A annual deductible, Part B’s 20% co-insurance (your out of pocket) plus your $283 Part B Deductible is the reason that people supplement their benefits with a Medigap Plan. There are 11 differing plans, A-N and the difference in price from carrier to carrier is based on risk, tobacco usage, geographical location and other ancillary offerings. There are no Doctor/Hospital network restrictions on Medigap Plans. It is most like a PPO in the Employer Group Insurance world.
Drug Plans ~ Part D: Drug plans (Part D) are not a part of Medigap Plans and should be purchased separately if you decide to enroll with a Medigap plan. Most MA Plans include a Drug Plan and are referred to a MAPD (Medicare Advantage with Part D) so a stand-alone Part D Drug Plan is not necessary. There are many companies to choose from that will best fit your needs. Medicines (Actuaries) covered, benefits and pricing change on a fairly regular basis, so we should look at what is best for you annually. You are subject to a penalty if you do not purchase a drug plan even though you don’t take prescription drugs. We will get a list of your prescriptions and search for the most accessible pharmacy and the lowest price on the drugs you most frequently use.
I can offer and execute the enrollments in the comfort of your home, meet at a mutual office or at any Coffee Shop in town. Call me if you have questions and we discuss the process.

WILLIAMS BENEFITS
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
I received so many solicitations that I didn't know where to begin. Then I read Bill Williams letter of introduction and it made so much sense to me. So I called him and he came over to my house and explained everything to me. He clarified so many things. He left to let me think about it and told me to call him when I was ready, if I wanted to go forth with his suggestions. When we got back together, he applied to the insurance and drug plan I picked. He made it so easy for me. I am an extremely satisfied client. Call him. He will help you figure it all out!

Thank you for your help. I’ve had a difficult time understanding the benefits, the network of doctors, hospitals and the plans that cover it, what the deductibles are, copays, etc. I had trouble with my dental coverage and you were there to call the dentist and get a clear understanding of what the coverage is. Thanks once again!

YOUR COSTS
You have many options available but if you are receiving Social Security, you worked for ten years, you are qualified for Part A. When you turn 65, you are eligible for Part B of Medicare. Call Social Security and request your Medicare card 2 - 3 months before your birth month. Part A, for most people is provided with NO MONTHLY PREMIUM. This also covers most expenses for Hospital Care, Home Healthcare, Skilled Nursing Facility, Hospice, after your 1st 3 pints of Blood, Medicare picks up the tab, etc. Your Part A Deductible is projected to be $1,788 in 2027. If you are still working, not taking Social Security and want to keep your current company health plan, you will receive your Medicare Card Part A in the mail if you requested a FREEZE on Part B. Your Part A will serve as your primary insurer and your company insurance will serve as your secondary plan.
You must alert Medicare (only Social Security for the initial request) in this situation that you want to postpone or FREEZE Part B coverage otherwise you will be paying for coverage you don’t need. The hospital/doctor will coordinate your benefits. For 2027, Part B Premium, for most people, is forecasted to be $209.50 per month ~ more if your AGI exceeds $109k for single filers, $218k for joint filers. It covers 80% of Doctor visits, surgical services, diagnostics, lab test, ambulatory services and more. Medicare Supplement or Medigap (same thing, different terminology) plans cover the gaps in coverage. Many options are offered, many carriers and range in price from under $50 a month for high deductible plans to over $600 a month for those under age 65. Generally, Medigap plans are offered at a monthly premium between $150 and $180.
